Your story (YEP, September 8) about the proposed new terminal building at Leeds Bradford Airport shows only one side of the picture.
The Leeds City Council landscape team has described the visual impact of the terminal “as ranging from moderate, major, adverse to major adverse’.

Hide AdThey add that there is “no doubt about the significant adverse effects on residential views, and the local public viewpoint (on Bayton Lane) etc.”
In other words, the new terminal would be a blot on the Wharfedale landscape.
The airport is used mainly by British holiday makers. If people cut down the number of their overseas holidays and spent more of their holiday money locally, this would create far more new jobs than the airport, as well as helping to save the planet for future generations.
