Man stabbed and another stamped on in Leeds restaurant brawl

A man was stabbed in the throat and chest and another was badly beaten and stamped on after a fight broke out at a Leeds restaurant.

West Yorkshire Police have issued CCTV as they seek to trace the people involved in the incident which took place at about 4am on Monday, January 30 at Fusion, in Roseville Road, Harehills,

A 24-year-old man was found with stab wounds to his throat and chest and was taken to Leeds General Infirmary for treatment. A 25-year-old man was also taken to hospital with head injuries after being kicked and stamped on.

Both were later released after treatment and the venue’s premises licence has now been suspended following an application from police licensing officers to Leeds City Council’s Licensing Sub-Committee.

The injured men and seven others, aged 24 to 38, were arrested on suspicion of violent disorder and subsequently bailed pending further enquiries. 

Officers are now looking to identify the men shown in the CCTV images as part of the investigation. 

Det Con Andy Smurthwaite, of Leeds District CID, said: “This was a serious incident of disorder where a significant level of violence was used and we are carrying out extensive enquiries to establish the full circumstances and trace all those who were involved.
