Whether you’re looking for a quiet pint or a place to dance all night long, there’s something for everyone on a night out in the city. We asked Yorkshire Evening Post readers for their suggestions of where to visit on the ‘best night out’ in Leeds – and they didn’t disappoint.
Here are 17 must-try places to visit, according to people who live here.
7. Brudenell Social Club
Dale Nicholson said: "Great music, beer, and people at The Brudenell". The lively Brudenell Social Club venue on Queen's Road, Burley, has hosted both huge names and up-and-coming local musicians over the years - and has become a jewel in the crown of not just Leeds' music scene, but the country's. 8. Moot Hall Arms
Another popular suggestion was the Moot Hall Arms in Mill Hill - which John Dickinson recommended was the best place for a beer in the city. The pub has strong ties with Leeds United and a great community spirit, and its staff and revellers have got behind charity fundraisers for local causes. Photo: Tony Johnson
9. Popworld Leeds
Donna Hogan said the best night out in Leeds must include a visit to Popworld in Millennium Square. The unapologetically cheesy late-night bar offers a place to dance the night away to nostalgic classics, and the bar is hosting its Popworld Festival in Millennium Square in August. Photo: Google
10. Be At One
Helen Wadsworth recommended cocktail bar Be At One, which has three Leeds branches in Boar Lane, Greek Street and Millennium Square. There are more than 100 cocktails to choose from and it's the bars are made for dancing on. Photo: Simon Hulme
11. Hyde Park Book Club
Simon Freddie said that for "small local musicians/bands, the Hyde Park Book Club is a cracking little venue." The Headingley Lane venue hosts live music, comedy and other events, as well as serving cocktails, craft beer and a small evening menu. Photo: Hyde Park Book Club
12. Bar Fibre
Sam Robson said the best night out in Leeds must include a visit to Fibre, adding: "100%. Some of the best DJs around for all you house fans." Dubbed the Home of House music in Leeds, the bar scooped Best Bar at the Yorkshire Evening Post's Oliver Awards 2023, as it celebrates two decades in the business. Photo: Joe Rendell
