These 11 areas had the highest rates of infection of Covid-19 in Yorkshire, according to government data. The figures, for the seven days to August 9, are based on tests carried out in laboratories (pillar one of the Government's testing programme) and in the wider community (pillar two). The rate is expressed as the number of new cases per 100,000 people.
1. Bradford
Bradford has the highest infection rate in Yorkshire at 54.7 (295 new cases per 100,000 people)
2. Calderdale
Calderdale is the second highest infection rate in Yorkshire at 44.5 (94 new cases per 100,000)
3. Kirklees
Kirklees is third with 30.2 infection rate (133 new cases)
4. Wakefield
Wakefield has 17.8 infection rate (62 new cases)
5. Sheffield
Sheffield has 15.4 infection rate (90 new cases)
6. Rotherham
Rotherham has a 15.1 infection rate (40 new cases)
