Please give him a chance. He's proved what he can do elsewhere, he's got the hunger to succeed so perhaps send him on loan to get the games in and the goals flowing then bring him back home. It worked with Beckford.

Now Eldings gone another (young-ish ) player out of the door no doubt to be replaced by a middle aged striker who'll probably end up injured and out for a slice of the season, please Gary Mac we all want success but have faith in the youth of Leeds United and try to get a healthy balance of youth and experience. Please bring back Rui !!!

I admire what Elding has said. We all love to cheer somebody like him who plays with their heart and isn't just doing a job and picking up a cheque. I back Gary Mac 100% but would like Elding to get a chance.

Tim, Stafford.

You can't knock the lads ambition, to be knocked back like he has yet still have the belief he might still play for Leeds is admirable. Let us hope that if things don't come off for him in the transfer market he gets his chance with Leeds, proves Gary Mac wrong and becomes a scoring sensation. What Strikers do we have coming through from the academy?

Paul, Hull Whites

Give the lad a chance to show what he is capable of.
Leeds is all about "heart" and this kid has it by the bucketload. He will chase long balls and throw himself into tackles. As we've seen throughout this season, it's the ones who keep giving 100% to the final whistle who got us into the play offs. How many last minute goals saved our ass this season?
He is not some prima donna only here for the paycheck.
He loves the badge and that kind of loyalty should be rewarded or at least give him the chance to show what he can do.
If other clubs are willing to sign him, keep him on our books and send him out on loan to get experience.

We NEED players like him who WANT to play for the badge.

I don't think it's a case of not giving Elding a chance. Like all new managers Gary Mac wants his own players plus the fact that he also wants to build a Championship side. In some positions we have too many players and not enough in others and he needs a more balanced squad. It's more probably a case of 'willing to listen to offers' and Crewe were the first. We will see the same with the likes of Constantine, Sweeney, Carole, Westlake & Sorsa before long.

I admire Elding for sticking to his guns and hopefully he will get a chance but in my opinion we need an experienced goalscorer to help Beckford like Freedman did.

Leeds should give Elding a chance to prove himself, we keep persevering with Kandol when it is quite obvious that he has neither the skill or the pace to warrant a place in the team. As to Andrew Cole, thanks but no thanks, Kevin Philips maybe but I doubt he will come here if Albion offer him a list fling in the premiership. Those of us who watched the team last season know what we need, a left back along with a 2 wide men with pace oh and Dougie Freedman back please.

I would rather have Elding stay at Leeds & be given a chance to show what he can do, and no way should AC come to us, try & get Dougie Freedman back he's shown how important he is to Leeds

Mac: Now's the time to re-prove your man management & coaching skills. The boy Elding has raw talent, a big heart and wants to wear the Leeds shirt (not like some money grabbers I could mention). So work & mould him over this next period - if then he is not up to par, let him move on in the knowledge that he WAS given a chance. Elding and Healey up front plus Beckford........ sounds like a plan to me! Mac, make it happen this season!

Mick

What do we expect for £125000 blinking Wayne Rooney. I wish the chairman actually took a gamble and invested some proper money in this team i feel sorry for Elding but we need better quality than he can offer.Leroy Lita from Reading is the type of player we should be going for build a team ready for the championship no old fogeys like Andew Cole. Come on Bates invest in players not bars hotels etc

Elding only scored once for Leeds, and when he did, I was on the Kop as he scored the consolation goal against Cheltenham.
Hardly a classic, and the game itself was very poor, but the look on his face said it all.
He was delighted to be off the mark, and I feel he promises more thanthe many average shifts put in by Kandol.
Give him a chance Mac - it may prove a master stroke.
Andy, Rotherham

Players rejected by Leeds have a nasty habit of returning to haunt the club.Let's hope we don't play Elding's new club.We should admire the comments he made on his respect for Leeds, especially in view of the way he has been treated.

****

this says more about Gary Mac than Elding. Elding was never given a chance, why not? Give him a chance then decide, if we need someone else. he also sent constantine on loan and he was scoring, whilst away from Leeds getting regular games. I checked the date when I saw the Andrew Cole story thought it must be April 1st. Would be better off with Chery Cole, I hear she's available again.

Its a disgrace to treat a player this way give the lad the chance to play and show us what he`s about then judge him not before, the guy even wants to prove what he`s about and love leeds not like some we have had.

****

For goodness sake the lad wants to play for Leeds and to be fair he has'nt had a run in the side to show what he can do.

Why get rid of a player that is passionate about the club and Leeds fan to. Why replace him with someone over age like Cole or Philips.

Gary Mac give the boy a chance.

Stuart Clark

****

He's still a Leeds United player so not too late to pull out of any deal. Keep him. Give him time to prove himself even if it means him going out on loan to a league one club for a time. What ever happened to doing honourable things in football? Some say that's all gone and in the past. I say no it hasn't despite what the accountants tell you.

it would be nice if he got to read these statements ,along with the manager, i agree will everybody , he should be given the chance ,he hads to be better than the hasbeens cole and we need people who want to give there all for leeds ,not some oldman , cheers ron

****

I like eldings attitude, but I do not believe he has the pace to be a good division 1 striker which is where leeds want to be next year. Phillips and Beattie were the best in that division and they are a different class to him. But having said that Tresor Kandol would have been first out the door, Lazy and lets Beckford do all the work. I believe that we should trust Gary Mac and Steve Staunton I believe we will go straight up next year and I hope Leeds fans turn up in even bigger numbers next year. Good look to elding I wish him well

i feel sorry for the lad . if he'd been in from when he arrived he'd maybe made more of an impression. when you are behind becks , dougie and tresor it would be hard to break into the 1st team. i wish him well for the future and am sorry it didn't work out. good luck elds for your new start but please dont score at elland road!!!

Simon.

****

Totally agree with other posters, the guy hasn't been given a chance had a great strike rate for his previous clubs if G.M thinks he's not ready send him out on loan to get some experience.

Would rater have a young guy who WANTS to play for the club than some has been who's only playing for a big pay day to bolster his pension fund, lets see if he (A.C) would want to pay as you play for us? Bet he will run to Burnley as quick as his old legs will carry him.

Determination is sometimes better than talent just cast your minds back to Wembley !

I think it's an absolute disgrace to treat this young lad so poorly, he could at least have been given a chance.

His confidence must be shattered , and I for one hope he goes onto score a bucket load of goals for his new club.

****

i think it proves gary mac is not the man for leeds he's letting a young striker leave without giving him a chance and yet he would be willing to pay andy cole a wage what a joke.

****

I agree that Elding has not been given a fair chance and are we keeping Constantine? It could be said he hasn't been give a fair chance to show what he can do either. Both players were top scorers with their previous clubs so there is a good chance they could both do well for Leeds if given a chance. Elding scored 4 times in about the same number of games for the reserves, so why wasn't he given a chance instead of Beckford who was very poor since the New Year? One thing I do know is I do NOT want Andy(rew) Cole at Leeds. We want young hungry players not old men wanting a last pay day at Leeds. We had lots of those under Blackwell and they were pathetic.

****

What I saw of Antony was far better than Tresor Kandol & I agree he wasn't given the time, Leeds proved they needed someone to challenge for the High balls as Beckford & Freedman don't as a smallish guy Antony certainly did, and I liked his aggression, Kandol just can't play football

****

Keep Elding forget about Cole, we want people who want to play for LUFC not money grabbers.
Colin

I SAY GIVE THE LAD A CHANCE, TALK OF COLE COMING IS A JOKE HE HAS HAD HIS DAY, GET KANDOL OUT BRING IN YOUNG GUYS , NOT PEOPLE READY FOR THIER PENSION. SUPER LEEDS BRY DEVON. PS HAVE BOTTLE GARY MAC
