Click here to read tributes to the two promising young women died when the car they were in left the road and plunged into an icy canal.
One of the teenagers is Leeds university student Sarah Woolmer, 19, from Skipton, North Yorks.

She and friend, Larissa, were travelling in a green Peugeot 206 when it crashed through metal railings marking the edge of a winding A-road that followed the course of the Leeds/Liverpool canal on Monday night.

It was not discovered until 6am on Tuesday morning.

YOUR TRIBUTES:

Sarah- I met you when you attened Drama Plus. I taught you for a good 3 or 4 years and every single week you would make me laugh. Even once you had moved on to bigger things we would always talk when we bumped into each other in town. Exchange our stories and new mobile numbers and catch up because you were not my student anymore- you were my friend. This is such a loss to us all. My heart goes out to your family and those of your friend who was also in this terrible accident. Rest In Peace girls.

Sarah, you were always the most beautiful, smiley, ahppy, bubbly person in the room where ever we were!

It was only the other week we were laughing about old times and good times.

Your birthday the other week spilling your pint everywhere in spoons.

Always missed but never forgotten babe!

You will always be missed by everybody that knew you!

Friday is going to be extremely heart breaking but we all know you wouldn't want it to be sad! you would say stop crying and get the drinks in!!!!

Who's going to duck under barriers now?!?!?!?!

Why does it always happen to the good people?

Miss you so much babe!

R.I.P

Love you Lucy xxxxxxxx

Sarah you are the most beautiful, kindest person I have ever met. Whenever I came into the form room you were always sat there doing your make up and made me come set next to you to see if I had any gossip. Typical girl really! You never had a bad word to say about anyone thats why everyone adored you! You were always there to give me a hug or advice if I had a bad day. Just an amazing friend. You're going to be missed so much, you had so many friends and we're all sharing the pain of realising we won't see our beautiful Sarah anymore. All I can do is cherish the beautiful pictures and memories of you and be grateful that I was lucky enough to have a friendship with such an amazing person. I love you so much, you were always my angel sent from heaven and heavens lucky enough to have you back. So save me a place up there and I'll come see you soon! Sorry to Sarah's family for loosing there beautiful girl. I'll never forget you Sarah, R.I.P my gorgeous princess. You will be in our hearts forever. I love you x

Sarah, it's too hard to believe that the most genuine, happy and caring person I've ever met has gone just like that. You'll always be in everyone's hearts and no-one will ever forget that beautiful smile. I couldn't come to lay down some flowers for you but me and a friend of mine up here prayed for you last night. You'll be missed more than you could ever imagine. Sarah, you helped me so much with everything and I never properly got chance to tell you how grateful I am for that. I'm so glad I bumped into you a couple of months ago and that I managed to get that last hug...if only I'd known it was the last one I wouldn't have let go so quickly. I know you're having fun up there...I only wish you could have had a lot more fun times down here with us beforehand.

Sarah, I don't really know what to say. I guess you know what I'm trying to say but the only thing I can think of now is that I love you, I miss you and I will always, always remember you.

Sarah, always smiling, always happy, the most hard-working person I know. Always there and willing to lend an ear and give a hug.

Rest In Peace Sarah, Heaven's got back that missing angel.

Sarah im still finding it hard to believe. I'm gonna miss u, we all are.
Glad we had alot to laugh about in the past, I keep looking at photo's and video's on my phone from things like drunken nights, things we did in the day and silly things like me having to show you how to put petrol in the car without getting it all over the floor at tesco's petrol station haha that was hilarious. and by the way remember what I said to you that day when i wer helping u baby sit and you was feeling abit down, go look at the amount of flowers down on that road, everyone loved you.
Me and becky have been up today, iv put some flowers down for you, was too scared to put them down yesterday and becky has wrote you a nice card and put it with the flowers she left.
Guna miss u xxx

Sarah,

I'm going to miss you so much, I remember growing up with you so well, we had such a good time at Primary School, I will never forget the birthday parties and going round to each others houses for tea. Its so heartbreaking to realize I will never see your smiling face again when you walk past mine to go home.

You always had time to stop and chat, even if you were busy or in a rush.

The last time I saw you was Easter weekend, you were having such a great night, and that's how I will always remember you - because I can never remember a time when you weren't happy!!

Rest in peace, always in my thoughts

xxx

I can't believe this has happened. I am in total shock. You were both far too young. A cruel world which you always seemed to make brighter with your smile Larissa.
Always in our memories, our love goes out to Andrew and your family at this time. You will never be forgotten Larissa. Sweet dreams and rest in peace.
