Sadly, it never happened because the council either didn’t have the money or the political will at the time. In retrospect it was a huge missed opportunity, especially judging by the congestion on today’s roads.
So, while Londoners have the Tube and the Government sees fit to spend £15bn on Crossrail, perhaps it’s time to think deep.
