Leeds nostalgia: Middleton School reunion

Former pupils of Middleton School are invited to attend a meeting at the Middleton Conservative Club, Ring Road, Middleton, at noon on the first Sunday in July.

The event, which has been run for the past several years, has proven a great success and is now open to wives and husbands of former pupils.

Organiser Malcolm Cameron said: “This is the 15th year. It started growing and last year we didn’t manage to get it in the paper and the number plummeted. We had up to 90 people in the past. We chat all afternoon and have the odd drink.”

He added: “It was a rough and ready school when I went there 60-odd year ago. I’m 75 now.

“I started the reunion because I bumped into an old school mate once day and it came from there really.”
