Leeds recommends: Best places to find Pokemon

With the current craze for the smartphone game Pokemon Go sweeping the world, we asked Pokemon trainers in Leeds for the best places to go to find the animated creatures.

Paul Long. All over the city centre and Kirkstall Abbey.

Katie Hampson. Roundhay Park lake for water Pokemon!

Luke Curson. Queen’s Hotel is a good Pokespot.

Harry Johnstone. I caught a Drayman at Dortmund Square near the St John’s Centre entrance.

Dan Morris. The Ridings.

Alice Hatton. There are two Pokestops near the Merrion Centre which commemorate the first synagogues to open in Leeds.

Philip Stogden. Hopefully in a cave somewhere, so all the Pokemon anoraks can go in, then seal the entrance up!

Jonny Bruce. Leeds Station - there are a lot here and it’s a great thing to occupy yourself with while waiting for a train.

Andrea Telford. The statue on Briggate outside the Trinity Centre entrance.

Jake Cobb. I live in Moortown and the Baptist church is a good place to go.

Mike Jeavons. While waiting in the queue at the city centre post office I caught a Diglet.

Matthew Bryant. Churchyards for ghost Pokemon!

Adam Clucas. My workplace is a Pokegym but I’m not saying where it is!

Charlotte Welch. On my runs through the Meanwood Valley Trail I always spot plenty.

Olivia Blagden. Beckett Park when I’m going to uni.

Jimmy Griffiths. Out at Harewood House - a good variety of different types.

Tom Bray. Anywhere with a lot of open space really - Temple Newsam has been productive for me.

Jessica Bowes. Caught a couple while watching a Yorkshire game at Headingley.

Robyn Saxton. I work in Wakefield and there are often Pokemon hanging out at the war memorial.

Tim Marshall. Can’t wait to hit Elland Road when the season starts to catch some in the stands!

Jackie Boyd. Caught water Pokemon up at Ilkley Lido.

Sam Batty. My own garden has been a surprisingly good hunting ground.

Esme Turnbull. Otley Chevin has a lot on patrol.

Ellie Hunter. Gledhow Valley Woods have a lot of Pokemon roaming around.

Jack Kaye. Trinity Centre is the trendiest place to catch your Pokemon.

Tyler Murray. Found a couple on the steps of Hyde Park Picture House.

Maya Sunak. Keep finding loads when I go to Burley.

Freya Maddison. Kirkstall Abbey is a fun place to hunt for them.
