After Valentine’s Day put plenty of romance in the air, we asked the people of Leeds to recommend the best place in Yorkshire to get married.

Stuart Stephen. Me and my partner are getting married in May at the Leeds Minster.

Leanne Higgins. We got married at Woodlands Hotel, Leeds. It was a beautiful venue.

Emma Simmonds. Gomersal Park Hotel, near Batley! We had our wedding there nearly six years ago. Lovely venue, the staff who worked there were fantastic with nothing being too much trouble, and happy to go with our wishes for food etc. There’s some lovely views for photos as well.

Janine Glendinning. Woodlands Hotel, Leeds. Although our small, intimate wedding wouldn’t be what most couples would have we had the perfect occasion for us. Couldn’t fault the staff, food, rooms, grounds.

Carly-Ann Durgan. We had our ceremony at Lotherton Hall which was amazing then our reception at The Leeds Club. Both fantastic and couldn’t have asked for better service!!

Paula Fitzpatrick Wood. The Bridge Hotel and Spa Wetherby, we had a whirlwind wedding and got married January 5 this year. We ended up there due to an off the cuff visit where the receptionist gave us an impromptu tour of the rooms...the immediate helpfulness, hotel decor, wedding options, food choices and affordable cost left us in no doubt this was the place for us! Helen the wedding lady is super and knowledgeable! No detail too small! They have amazing packages and the food was excellent! I had my dream wedding to an amazing man ( yes Glenn Wood that’s you!) knowing we were good hands!

Lyn Green. I had my wedding at Waterton Park Hotel, had a wonderful day and evening, beautiful scenery for photos and the service was excellent from all staff and the food was excellent too. Lovely accommodation for guests to stay over. This is a wonderful wedding venue.

Gavin Sharp. I would highly recommend Oulton Hall! Got married there nearly a year ago! The staff couldn’t of done anymore for us and our guests! 10/10! Location and scenery is great for your photos!

Danni Wainwright. Ravenhall, in Ravenscar, Whitby. We got married there six months ago, amazing building, gorgeous sea views, fab food and a great price too! Would recommend to anyone!

Tracey A Smythe. My wedding was held at The Priests House near Bolton Abbey, it was small and intimate with fab attention to detail in a beautiful setting and nothing was too much trouble.

Sue Holland. I went to a beautiful wedding on February 3 at Holdsworth House Hall in Halifax and the place is amazing, it’s where Last Tango in Halifax was filmed, the staff couldn’t do enough for you and the package comes with all 38 bedrooms. The gardens and building is amazing.. Fantastic place...

Samantha Anne Broome. We are due to get married at East Riddlesden Hall later this year. It’s a barn with grounds and a natural trust. As soon as we saw it we knew it was the place.

Julie Partridge. We had our reception at Thornfield House in morley it was a fantastic day catered for everything we wanted
