HUNDREDS of young football fans have gone the extra mile for their beloved club.

Around 200 players from Horsforth St Margaret’s Junior Football Club tackled a mile-long fun run at Horsforth Cricket Club to raise cash for a new clubhouse.

Coach Richard Cusworth said: “It was a raging success and raised about £9,000.”

The clubhouse will cost around £760,000 and work is due to start in a few weeks. It is expected to open in May 2015.
