SOLDIERS, veterans and a local MP met at Leeds Metropolitan University to prepare for an expedition in Ecuador.

The team will set off on May 26 to climb the Cotopaxi volcano and raise £10,000 for The Royal British Legion’s Battle Back Centre.

The centre in Shropshire provides sport and training for wounded, injured and sick Armed Forces personnel.

Greg Mulholland, MP for Leeds North West, who is also on the team, said: “It’s a tough challenge, but the worthwhile cause will help to push us on!”
