Soprano singer Elizabeth Frankland will leave Leeds to travel to Rwanda and Uganda.

The singer from Otley will visit the Asante Ministries charity, which she has helped support through various fundraising concerts. The charity aims to help build schools and supply teachers with the equipment they need.

Elizabeth said: “I feel extremely privileged to visit these countries to actually see what the money I’ve raised has been used for.”

Elizabeth will host a charity Christmas Concert at 7pm on November 29 at Christchurch in Ilkley. For tickets, which cost up to £8, call 0113 284 2841.

Julie Britton and daughter Connie Seabourne were among those attending the event.
