Friends and family of Manminder Singh Saundh have organised the charity night at the Aria Suite in Woodhouse Street, Leeds, for the British Heart Foundation.

The 35-year old Radio Asian Fever DJ and doting dad, known affectionately as ‘Minda’, died suddenly after suffering a major heart attack while caring for his four-year-old-son Harman at his home in Moor Allerton earlier this year.

Tomorrow’s fundraiser will feature guest performer and bhangra music legend Shin from the band DCS.

BBC Asian Network’s Harpreet Kaur, who was a close friend of Mr Saundh’ and will be presenting the event, said: “Minda was a man who would not only looked out for his family and friends, but also went the extra mile for those who needed help, who he didn’t even know on a personal level.

“This event has been put together for that very reason, the one thing Minda taught us himself, which was to give more than you take.

“We are hoping to raise as much money as we can for The British Heart Foundation and hope to see many of you there to help raise awareness as well as celebrate such a wonderful man’s life.”

Tickets, priced £15, include a three course meal.
