CLubbers have been promised a night to remember on Saturday in tribute to a Leeds DJ.
Duncan Wilson died from testicular cancer in March last year and this weekend would have been his 35th birthday.
At Dancing for Despo, taking place at Distrikt on Duncan Street, several of his closest DJ friends will take to the decks to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Katy Noble, Duncan’s close friend and housemate, said: “As well as being an amazing friend who supported us through his illness, Duncan had an insatiable character with a passion for all people and things that were dear to him. His capacity for knowledge and to learn was immense and his love for music was his most infinite passion.
“I am organising this event to honour Duncan’s memory on what would have been his 35th birthday, to bring his family and friends back to the dancefloor and remember him in a way that could be no better suited to Duncan.
“Macmillan Cancer Support have been there to support Duncan, his family and his friends throughout and beyond his illness and I would like to raise as much money and awareness as possible for this amazing charity in his name.”
The night starts at 8pm with a collection being held for the charity on the door.
