Is it gin o’clock yet? With all the gin-based fun going on in Leeds at the moment, here are our top 5 takes on the tipple.

Pintura, Trinity Leeds

The basement bar serves 30 gins but the best is the Portobello Road with juniper berries and pink grapefruit, served in a 21oz goblet at £7.95.

Gin Garden, The New Ellington, York Place

The New Ellington is home to the Gin Garden with over 140 gins. Try the Vanilla Crush cocktail with vanilla gin and blackberries for £9.50.

Pour House, Granary Wharf

Try some of the 19 different gins and soak up some sun by the river. The Junipero gin has a slight juniper flavour and a spicy finish, at £5.50.

Lazy Lounge, Wellington Street

This bar takes gin so seriously is hosts a ‘Lazy Gin Club’ every week. Mix it up with German gin Monkey 47, which has 47 ingredients, at £5.

Manahatta, Merrion Street

Try something different with a 5th Avenue Fizz, made with gin, lemon, lime, double cream, pomegranate and egg white at £7.50.

Clockwise from top left, Lancashire hot pot, toad in the hole, liver and onions, potted shrimp, bubble and squeak and Kedgeree could all soon be consigned to the history books.
