Parsley: There's no decision to be made

Assistant-boss Neil Parsley is refusing to rule himself in or out of the race to become the new manager of Farsley Celtic.
No-one knows better than Parsley how John Deacey will be feeling after being told his services were no longer required on Thursday evening after a decade at the Throstle Nest club.
Parsley himself spent 10 years at neighbours Guiseley before being unceremoniously removed from his position as manager two years ago.
But the football merry-go-round is uncompromising. Managers come and go and Parsley, though devastated at Deacey's departure, could well be reluctant to turn down any offer from Celtic should it arise.
Parsley, who has been put in temporary charge for today's home game with Hucknall, said: "I have been where John is and he will be hurting like chuff. I am devastated for him and I am disappointed it has not worked out with him as manager and me as number two.
"This is a difficult situation for everybody. But on Saturday Farsley Celtic need to win a football match against Hucknall Town and I want to win that match as much as I wanted to win last week's match at Stalybridge and as much as I want to win next week's game against Hyde.
"If it's my last game in charge, then that's the club's decision.
"Do I want the job on a permanent basis? It is something I will have to think about if an offer is made.
"It has always been a desire of mine to manage at a higher level than I have done. However, at this stage that opportunity has not arisen and therefore there is not a decision to be made.
"It is up to Farsley to decide whether to appoint from within or from outside. It's only the club who can answer that. If they want to appoint from outside I understand. I will be doing my utmost to get results for Farsley Celtic in the meantime."
Whoever gets the job will have an hard act to follow with expectations raised to sky-high levels at Throstle Nest by an unparelled period of success which saw Celtic win three promotions in four seasons under former manager Lee Sinnott, with Deacey as his assistant. It culminated in the club reaching the Conference for the first time in their history in May 2007.
Deacey couldn't consolidate after succeeding Sinnott following his departure to Port Vale – where he was dismissed a fortnight ago – last November.
Slump
Farsley suffered relegation back to Blue Square North in May and have won just two of their first 10 league games this time round to slump to 16th place in the table.
