SKIPPER Graeme Lee says Bradford City won't be taking basement boys Luton Town lightly tomorrow, with memories of their last home game to another in-the-red club in Bournemouth firmly in their minds.
The Cherries, docked 17 points before a ball was kicked in League Two this term, knocked the Bantams of their perch at the top of the table by virtue of a shock 3-1 success 13 days ago.
Luton, hammered with a 30-point penalty in the summer, are th
e visitors to BD8 tomorrow and, with City smarting from back-to-back defeats to Bournemouth and Shrewsbury, defender Lee is anxious the hosts recover the form which saw them start the campaign like a house on fire.
Lee said: "After two defeats, we need to bounce back as soon as possible, put things right and get back to winning ways.
"We know what happened against Bournemouth, another team fighting for their lives, so we don't need telling twice of the danger of the game.
"Luton are in a terrible situation, which is unfortunate because they have been a good club over the years. They are going to be fighting and I know they've got some good players there.
"They got relegated last season, but still have some quality in there such as (Sam) Parkin and (Kevin) Nicholls, who are well proven, not only in this league, but the one above as well."
Boss Stuart McCall is facing an anxious wait to see if Paul Arnison recovers from a calf injury picked up in the loss to the Cherries to fill the right-back berth.
His replacement last weekend, TJ Moncur, is ruled out with concussion after being stretchered off following a sickening clash of heads with Lee in the first half of the 2-0 loss at Shrewsbury.
If Arnison misses out, McCall – who has ruled out bringing in loan cover – could hand Simon Ainge his first start for a year.
The City chief must also make do without ex-York and Cardiff midfielder Lee Bullock, out for two to three weeks after picking up a knee injury playing as a makeshift right-back at the New Meadow.
McCall is keeping his fingers crossed that top-scorer Peter Thorne, who missed the Shrews trip with a sore back, takes his place in the forward line against the Hatters.
The veteran goal-poacher has trained in the second half of the week.
Tomorrow's game sees a Coral Windows Stadium return for ex-Bantam Lewis Emanuel, while Paul McLaren faces the club where he started his career.
