Chairman targets a Terriers goal glut

Chairman Ken Davy is backing Huddersfield's strikeforce to fire in tomorrow's League One home clash with Roberto Di Matteo's MK Dons.
Rated among the most fancied teams for promotion, both sides are in the bottom half of the table, though the Terriers are yet to lose following draws with Stockport and Colchester United.
Davy has been pleased with Huddersfield's defensive displays but he is calling for goals tomorrow.
Town then host a mouth-watering Carling Cup tie with Sheffield United on Wednesday and Davy is backing his forwards to burst into life.
"It's been very positive as we've only conceded one goal in the league and that has been one of our weakest areas in previous seasons," said Davy. "We now need to start scoring goals and I'm absolutely confident we will do that.
"It's a very big week for us as it's our second home game and we were delighted to have nearly 16,000 there for our first home game of the season. We're hoping to get another good turnout against MK Dons.
"Obviously the clash with Sheffield United is then a real tasty proposition and we are confident that it will be an exciting occasion."
Determined to be promoted in their centenary year, Town have made a glut of signings – striker Tom Denton, attacking midfielder Ian Craney and another forward, loanee Liam Dickenson, unveiled as summer arrivals eight, nine and 10 this week.
Davy admits the spate of signings is a signal of Town's intent.
Said the chairman: "We're now just about up to double figures and Stan (Ternent) is obviously making his move in terms of moulding his team into the group of winners that he wants to have playing for the club. It is very exciting."
For all the excitement and for all the ravings about a 4-0 League Cup defeat of Bradford City, the Terriers are still seeking their first league win ahead of the clash with Pete Winkelman's newly-promoted side.
However, should three points fail to materialise, Davy will not be reaching for the panic switch.
"It is very important but, then again, it's not critical," said the chairman. "It's a long season and we need to make solid progress but it would be wrong to put any extra emphasis on this game.
"It is important to try and win every match but we all know over the course of the season that doesn't happen and you've got to be realistic.
"What really is important for Huddersfield Town is that all the new players that have been brought in get games together and this gives them the opportunity to develop as a team. To do that takes time but we are very encouraged with the start to the season and are really looking forward to the whole season."
Victory tomorrow could also see Town leapfrog rivals Leeds should they fail to win at Yeovil, but Davy is concentrating solely on matters at the Galpharm.
He added: "Leeds are one of the favourites to get promoted and we will keep an eye on what's going on, but our main focus is on what we do."
