19 beautiful Leeds walking trails and parks for the Easter holidays including Temple Newsam and Golden Acre

We are blessed to have some gorgeous walking routes just a stone's throw away from the city centre.

From challenging trails and lesser-known routes to popular parks for gentle strolls with all the family, there's a walk for everyone in Leeds this Easter.

Here are 19 of our favourites.

The five mile Tong Circular route straddles the boundary of Leeds and Bradford, travelling from Tong Hall along the bridleways of Pudsey Beck and Tyersal Beck, before looping back through Black Carr Woods.

Sitting on the route of both the Leeds Country Way and the Meanwood Valley Trail, Golden Acre Park attracts plenty of walkers, and is known for its picturesque gardens and circular lakeside walk.

There are more than 100 acres of gardens to explore in the grounds of this attractive stately home. And Harewood has been home to a deer park since the medieval era with three types of deer spread over 4,000 acres of land

Nestled between Pudsey and Farnley, the Post Hill, which got its name from the Yorkshire Evening Post, offer some great views of the sunset.

This 5.1km, easy-going route leads through woodland, across Kirkstall Forge station footbridge, along the Leeds and Liverpool canal and back through woodland alongside a river. With a little detour, you can take in the stunning Kirkstall Abbey on the way.
