International music sensation Cardi B is amongst the first names to be announced as a performer when the 2017 Mobo Awards take place in Leeds later this month.

The Bronx rap star became the first female rapper in 19 years to top the Billboard Hot 100 with a solo hit.

She is also nominated for Best International Act on the night alongside DJ Khaled, Drake, Kendrick Lamar, Solange and Sza.

South London rap duo Krept and Konan will return to the First Direct Arena two years on being crowned Best Hip Hop Act.

And Stefflon Don, one of the UK’s most exciting new emcees, will be taking to the stage on November 29.

The star, who just signed a £1m deal with Universal, is one of the most nominated talents at this year’s event with three chances to take home an

award.

Other acts confirmed to perform on the night include rapper Yungen and Yxng Bane, whose infectious hit Bestie toped the Official Trending Chart last month.

Stormzy leads the field when it comes to the shortlist with a whopping five nominations, while Jorja Smith and Sampha each earn three nods.

The two metre-high ‘Windows of Leeds’ letters on the south concourse at the city's main railway station got a MOBO make-over last week in anticipation of the awards.
