Two of the biggest and most influential heavy metal bands in history are set to play a double headliner in Leeds this Autumn.

Slayer and Anthrax will perform at the city’s O2 Academy on November 28 as part of a European tour.

It comes as Slayer prepare to release their first new album in six years, the first since the death of guitarist Jeff Hanneman.

Anthrax have long been peers of Slayer, forming the so-called Big Four of thrash metal alongside Metallica and Megadeth.

Tickets will go on sale online today and will be available from Crash and Jumbo Records from Friday,
