Riding the wave of their recent popularity, Circa Waves exceeded all expectations and delivered a storming headline show to a packed O2 Academy Leeds on Monday evening.

First up are Clean Cut Kid, a band with some seriously good hair and they get the crowd warmed up nicely for the second support act of the evening, Rat Boy, with a growing fan base of his own songs such as ‘Sportswear’ and ‘Sign On’ go down well with the already rowdy crowd.

Bursting onto stage with older tracks like ‘Stuck In My Teeth’ and ‘Good for Me’, the headliners rattled through their set with an intensity and energy that never let up for the fixated crowd.

Liverpool quartet Circa Waves had an adoring crowd from the offset who chanted every word back to them generating an electric atmosphere that filled the room.

‘Stuck in My Teeth’ got a huge reaction from their audience but even the lesser known numbers from debut album Young Chasers roared to life mid-way through the set, with tracks like ‘My Love’ and ‘I Can Sleep Tonight’ going down a treat.

After the usual, short encore break Circa Waves stormed back onto stage to end their exhilarating set with ‘101’ and the ever-so popular ‘T Shirt Weather’ the band left the stage triumphant with the crowd wanting more.
