NORTHERN BALLET’S success for its production of 1984 in the prestigious South Bank Sky Arts Awards will be televised tonight. (June 8)

The awards, which will be shown on Sky Arts at 8pm, recognise British achievements in the arts and are the latest accolade for the ballet.

Announced at a ceremony in London, Northern Ballet’s 1984 was nominated alongside The Royal Ballet and Lost Dog.

Northern Ballet’s artistic director David Nixon said: “It is an incredible honour to have won the dance award at the South Bank Sky Arts Awards.”
