Watch: Photographer's incredible hyperlapse film of Leeds

Video producer Thomas Williamson, 29, has spent the past five months working on the film in his own time in what is his first attempt at a hyperlapse - a technique in time-lapse photography where the camera's position is changed with each shot, to create an accelerated view of real-time.

The former Leeds Beckett fine art student admitted the technique involves a lot of patience.

"It's a very slow process. It involves taking a photo, moving a step, taking another photo. It takes a long time. Eventually you then process it on the computer but then you have to stabilise the footage frame by frame.

"I started it on Light Night back in October.

Thomas, who lives in Chapel Allerton but is set to move to the Cayman Islands next week where he hopes to do freelance work, said he is "really pleased" with the finished product but said there was no official purpose behind the film.

"I wanted to make sure I finished it before I moved out of the country. Just for people to see it and share it would be great."
