Animator nominated for BAFTA

A talented animator from Ackworth near Pontefract has been nominated for a BAFTA award.

Marcus Armitage, 24, is nominated in the British Short Animation category with his film My Dad.

He will go up against The Bigger Picture and Monkey Love Experiments at a ceremony presented by Stephen Fry at the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden, London, on February 8.

The former Pontefract King’s School and New College student, said: “It has always been a dream to get a BAFTA, something I really wanted, and then to read on the internet that I was nominated was unbelievable.

“In fact, I am still in shock now.”

Mr Armitage added: “I have no idea what my chances are but it is great to even be in with a chance.”

Prices will range from �350-�795 for bridal gowns and from �85 for bridesmaids.
