THEY'VE already played at Glastonbury and T in the Park, but up-and-coming band The Script are hoping Party in the Park in Leeds will kick off their most successful week so far.
The Irish trio, who had a top 20 hit with their debut single We Cry, will release their second song, The Man Who Can't Be Moved, on Monday.

But before the latest track hits the shops, the lads have the small matter of performing in front of 70,000 music fans at Party in the Park on Sunday.

"We love performing in front of huge crowds, although we still get really nervous," said lead singer Danny O'Donoghue. "Performing in Leeds again will be brilliant.

"We came when we supported The Hoosiers in February but this will be a lot bigger.

"Hopefully it'll also be the start of our greatest week so far. Our new single is out and we've got high hopes for it. We just hope the fans like our stuff."

Danny, alongside guitarist Mark Sheehan and drummer Glen Power, will share the Temple Newsam stage with the likes of McFly, Scouting for Girls, Alphabeat and Basshunter.

And the trio, who are preparing for the release of their self-titled debut album on August 11, are also hoping to catch up with new friends Scouting For Girls, who they met at T4 on the Beach last Sunday.

"They seem like a really nice bunch of lads," Danny said. "We were going to meet up for a few pints but we had to be up at 9am, so we didn't in the end. Hopefully we'll be able to catch up and have a few drinks on Sunday."

Pop fans have now snapped up all 70,000 free tickets for Party in the Park, which is organised by Leeds City Council in partnership with 96.3 Radio Aire.

The event, which counts the YEP as a media partner, forms the second half of a weekend of free entertainment at Temple Newsam Park, which will also host Opera in the Park on Saturday.
