Rush hour traffic was brought to a halt in Leeds city centre this afternoon when two luxury cars collided on Wellington Street.
The smash, between a silver Mitsubishi Evo and a black BMW, happened at around 4.20pm at the junction of Lisbon Street.

No one was hurt in the accident but one lane of the road was blocked while recovery vehicles were called. By 4.30pm traffic had begun to back up.

The cars had both careered off the road, one hitting traffic lights and a bollard.

One witness said: "The cars look a real mess, it's lucky that no one was hurt."

The damage is expected to run into thousands.
