AN INAUGURAL conker competition proved a knockout.
Businessmen loosened ties to take part in the playground game at The Courtyard bar in Leeds city centre.

More than 50 competitors signed up to play the game and all money raised went to the Children in Need and Yorkshire Air Ambulance charities.

The event was organised by Nikolaj Dockree of BAM Properties who said the contest had been so popular that it was hoped to repeat the event on an annual basis.

This year's winner was James Crookes from Pinsent Masons.
