A police car was involved in a smash today on a busy route out of Leeds.
The badly-damaged police car was being guarded by police at the scene on Kirkstall Road, just outside McDonalds.

The police car, which had extensive damage to its front passenger side, appeared to have gone into a nearby railing close to traffic lights after colliding with a green VW hatchback.

An ambulance was also at the scene along with other police cars but one officer at the scene said there were no serious injuries to anyone in either car and the road had not had to be closed to traffic.
