An inter club battle for supremacy in the Hambleton Ales North Yorkshire Squash League is under way at the season's half-way stage.

Snapping at their heels, just three behind behind in second place are Harlow's first team who have won eight of their nine matches.

ng the Harlow II battle to keep their place at the top are Paul Crafts, Nigel Chambers, skipper Dan Lupton and James Hannaway.

For the first team Richard Leonard, Seth King, Jonathan Round and team boss Rob Cunningham are pulling the strings.

Meanwhile, Squash III in third place have only 74 points and have been playing without their top man Andy Keeling, injured for the past three matches.

Their side is led by Duncan Hill and includes Neil Molyneaux and Steve Gibson.

It was a case of baby stops play in the last eight of the Kall-Kwik Squash Championships.

Boroughbridge player Simon Robinson was set for a place in the final stages when he got a call saying his wife Christina was having a baby.

Robinson's rival on court was Paul Crafts (Harlow) who readily agreed to postpone the on-court battle and resume later.

There was much baby talk on court when Naomi weighed in at six pounds 10 ounces.

Tournament secretary David Cockle reported both mum and baby doing well.
