Wortley FC promote healthy lifestyles
Wortley FC coaches Tony Carney & Antony Brooke recently assisted students from the Leeds Carnegie Metropolitan University to promote a Healthy Lifestyles project for Year 3,4,5 and 6 pupils at St Bartholomews Primary School.

The event was for part of the Leeds Met students Sports Development course, where they had to organise an event of their choice relating to sport.
They decided to do a 'healthy lifestyles' day and it included practical sessions and a healthy eating element. Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 pupils had taken part and all participated in both aspects during the day.
The healthy eating part was a classroom based presentation on the different food groups and benefits of being active, and then afterwards there was a food tasting session with healthy foods from the different food groups.
Leeds Met student Lauren Plant said "The practical sessions was supposed to be different activities and drills from different sports, however when they saw the interest in football from both girls and boys at St Bartholomew's we stuck with football as it was their preffered choice".
