Temple AFC U-15s 1
Bramley Phoenix U-15s 3
Date: Sunday, November 11
Competition: Leeds & District FA, Under 15's Division 2
With key Temple players missing and others under-performing Bramley Phoenix ran the show throughout the first half and only some aerobatic saves from Temple keeper, Paul Lineham, kept the score to a reasonable 2 - 0 deficit at half-time.
Temple's only serious flurry resulted in a striker being pulled down inside the Phoenix penalty area but the referee awarded a free-kick outside the box.
From that free-kick Ash Pollard netted but was adjudged to have been off-side and the goal was disallowed.
After the break Temple rallied and began to push Phoenix back.
Breaking forcefully to the edge of the box and with only the keeper to beat, Rory Drysdale drove his shot into the ground allowing the Phoenix keeper chance to parry, the rebound fell to Luke Pattison who's miss-hit shot was tamely collected by the keeper.
Soon after Luke broke free down the right only to sky his shot well over the bar.
Nathan Bates, who's day had not been going well after breaking his spectacles when injured in an earlier tackle, finally restored some Temple respect when he beat two defenders and the keeper for a fine solo goal.
Phoenix attacked less frequently now but still managed to threaten the Temple goal, Ashley Pollard needing to head a certain goal off the line with Paul Lineham stranded.
Phoenix finally sealed the game with a scrappy goal late on following errors in the Temple defence and Temple were left to rue missing those earlier chances.
Final score 3 - 1
