Temple AFC U-15s 1
Chapeltown U-15s 8
Date: Sunday, November 4
Competition: Leeds & District FA, Division 2
Chapeltown, as a collection of highly skilled individuals are good, if they ever play for each other, as a team, they would be awesome. As it was the individuals were too good for Temple.
From the start Temple were pressed back and shots rained in on the Temple goal. Chapeltown's No.9 & No.10, two of the few who worked together, tormented the Temple right side defence and were a constant threat.
The rest, including a giant No.8, pranced and show-boated around the pitch almost at will. Always first to the ball, skillful in control and accurate in passing Chapeltown never allowed Temple any part of the game.
Temple striker Kane Rowlands and winger Richard Lappage came close on a couple of occasions, but with little support soon faded. Ash Pollard covering for several under-par team-mates worked tirelessly throughout the game.
A nasty foul on Kane, yards inside the area, should have given Temple a penalty chance but a direct free kick outside the box was awarded instead and came to nothing. Chapeltown scored four times before the break.
After the break, substitute Nathan Bates made some impressive runs and both Kane and Richard began to re-emerge giving Temple some hope.
Luke Pattison executed a beautiful free kick into the Chapeltown box and was on hand to place the rebound perfectly for Ash Pollard to chest down, turn and fire into the Chapeltown net for a consolation goal.
While at the other end Chapeltown tortured the Temple defence and gave the keeper a nightmare. Final score 8 - 1.
