With no substitutes and Tank Wooffitt suffering an early first-half injury a 10-man Temple AFC eventually collapsed under severe pressure from last season's Division 3 outfit, Gildersome Spurs.

Gildersome applied pressure from the start and despite some fine saves from temporary keeper, Charlie Jenkins, had taken a four goal lead by

half-time.

In the second-half, Temple rallied and pulled back two goals with good efforts from Matty Hayward and new boy James Gordon.

Temple held out at 4 - 2 untill well into the second-half when exhaustion and the uneven numbers took it's toll and Gildersome racked up a dozen. In the end Gildersome deserved their win but the Temple effort did not deserve the final battering.

As well as Charlie Jenkins (awarded Star Player), Azzy Bell and James Gordon played well, and Lewis Catterill was a 'class act' at sweeper.

Temple goalscorers: James Gordon, Matthew Hayward.

Temple star player: Charlie Jenkins.
