Kane Rowlands was in excellent form and tormented the Phoenix centre-half with several skillful dribbles before scoring the first Temple goal on 15 minutes.
Four minutes later Temple were two goals up when Joe Farmer and Kane Rowlands combined well on the left and Kane's pull-back was met by Matty McHale who poked home from close range as the Phoenix keeper bravely dived at his feet.
The Temple midfield and strike were in rampant mood with Rory Drysdale, Ash Pollard and centre-back Danny Holmes (having by far his best game for a long time) ensuring that all the play was in the Phoenix half.
Straight from the second-half kick off Temple attacked in force, Andy Manchester's high ball being well flicked on by Ash Pollard to Ricky Lappage at the edge of the box, but he rushed his shot which went
wide.
The very next attack saw a skilled through-pass from Matty McHale being met by Ash Pollard who rounded a static Phoenix defence to score Temple's third goal.
Temple kept pushing further and further into the Phoenix half and were exposed when a suprise Phoenix counter attack beat the defence and a long range shot was palmed into the net by the Temple keeper.
Roused by this success Phoenix attacked again forcing three successive corner. The third corner was poorly defended and an almost certain goal was blocked on the line by a well-placed Phil Hudson.
This was the turning point of the game after which Phoenix lost all control as Temple went back on the offensive. A fine overlapping move between Phil Hudson and Ricky Lappage released Kane Rowlands who went one on one with the keeper but Kane's final touch was wide.
Joe Farmer and Danny Holmes both headed wide from successive Temple corners. With 20 minutes to go Ricky Lappage's cleverly headed flick- on was met by Kane Rowlands who made no mistake this time. 4 - 1
Next, Kane's forward pass was touched on by Matty McHale to Ricky Lappage who was pushed to the floor on the penalty spot but no kick was awarded.
Rory Drysdale's long range goal-bound effort was deflected inches wide. Ricky Lappage found Kane Rowlands with a fine through pass but his shot from the edge of the box went wide. Ricky Lappage
repeated the through pass for Matty McHale who beat the keeper for Temple's fifth goal.
Following several more close efforts and the Phoenix becoming more aggressive Ricky Lappage was felled on the edge of the box. Rory Drysdale's clever free kick lobbed the Phoenix keeper. 6 - 1
The goal tally could have been higher as Phoenix's only answer was wild tackles around their box. Both Kane and Rory failed to convert free kicks but it didn't matter. Phoenix collapsed and Temple were
triumphant. Final score 6-1
