An exciting, thrilling game by two very determined sides made an excellent spectacle for all and a great advert for junior soccer.

Temple started at full pace, stunning the Woodkirk Valley defence, and placing their goal under constant pressure for the first 10 minutes.

Woodkirk Valley, on their first foray into the Temple half, and completely against the run of play, opened the scoring with a good goal from their number ten.

Within a minute Temple had equalised when Azzy Bell placed the perfect through ball to Declan Issac who fired home the unstoppable. The game became end to end with pressure from both teams and Woodkirk Valley restored their lead on 25 minutes when trialist Temple keeper, Charlie Jenkin, made a dramatic diving save only to see the ball rebound to an unmarked Woodkirk striker who side-footed into

the open goal.

Undeterred, Temple returned to the attack and, following a long series of Temple corners, Danny Buck's long range strike hit the upright.

Half-time 2 - 1 Quickly after the restart Woodkirk extended their lead following a mix-up in the Temple defence.

But Temple weren't finished. Declan Isaac fired wide after being released by Ross Marshall, a Tank Wooffitt's goal was dis-allowed for off-side, cries for a Temple penalty when Tank Wooffitt was up-ended in the box went un-rewarded and both Matty Hayward and James Gordon saw excellent efforts saved by a very good WoodkirkValley keeper.

The game gradually became all Temple pressure except for very sporadic Woodkirk attacks which were well handled by defenders, Lewis Catterill and Matty Ellis, and keeper, Charlie Jenkin.

With five minutes left Declan Isaac, who had tormented the

Woodkirk defence all through the game, beat several defenders and

scored with a fine solo effort.

The final five minutes was all in the Woodkirk penalty area with their goal under constant seige but eventually time ran out for Temple with the final score at 3 - 2 to

Woodkirk Valley.

Good displays from Declan, Sean Waite in his first match, Azzy Bell and Lewis Catterill were only topped by a fine all-round performance from Star of the Week, Danny Buck.

I'm not certain an embarrassed Danny will want to win the award again following a big kiss from his mum in front of the whole team.
