During it's first year Temple AFC fielded two teams in local junior leagues.

Phil Manchester, of Temple AFC, said: "For a club sporting many players who had never previously played football they faired much better than many expected, both teams achieving very respectable League positions by the season's end."

Highlight of the first year was the granting of Charter Standard status, a quality standard awarded to the Club by The FA.

Temple AFC's aim is to offer football training and competitive football, especially targeting boys who have either never played football before or lack the skills and confidence to be accepted by the more established local clubs.

During the close-season several players from both teams have sufficiently gained from the Temple experience to successfully trial for stronger teams.

Temple view this as a success of their policies, and far from being disappointed, wish those players well, and look forward to developing more first-timers in their place.

Off the field Temple has also promoted training for the older boys in auxilliary soccer skills. One 15y-old has already passed his full FA Referee qualification and gone on to referee both at local junior matches and at the Leeds United Football Academy.

Other boys are being mentored towards gaining their FA Coaching qualifications.

By encouraging participation outside of the weekly match Temple are building for an increased team-base and a bright future.
