WILDCATS picked up three potentially serious injuries during yesterday’s 44-6 defeat at Hull KR.

Coach Richard Agar said Reece Lyne (pictured) damaged a toe, Taulima Tautai suffered a suspected broken hand and Scott Anderson was struggling after the game with sore ribs. Agar shuffled his side, with Paul Sykes returning at full-back – though he was named as stand-off – in place of Richard Mathers, who was left out.

“We thought Paul would bring a little more balance to our attack and it would give us another left-footed kicker, which was something we thought we would need today,” Agar said afterwards.

“I don’t think we found out whether it worked or not. We turned the ball over 10 times in good field position.

“The selections were inconsequential when we had so many blokes who weren’t prepared to work hard enough for each other.”
