Young Marlins put on a show

MILFORD MARLINS, including only three players aged over 20, came out on top 44-10 at Eastmoor Dragons in the National Conference summer league.

Try scorers for Marlins were Sam Teesdale (2), Aaron Jones-Bishop (2), John Plunkett, James Barker, Gavin Adams and Joe French. Martin Loveridge kicked six conversions.

Skipper Liam Morley was in outstanding form as Thornhill Trojans maintained their unbeaten record with a thrilling 37-30 home win over Oulton Raiders.

Three wins out of three mean that Trojans' summer team have now won more games than their winter side managed last season.

Richard Bostock crossed three times for Trojans and other try scorers were Franny Green, Jordan Palmer, Joss Ratcliffe and Ryan Fenton, who also kicked three goals.

Simon Walker landed one goal and Wayne Hartley added a drop.

Sixteen-year-old Josh Lancaster was outstanding for Raiders, whose try scorers were Lewis Samardjza, Danny Elston, Adrian Holdsworth, Carlos Sanchez and Danny Burton.

Lee Brown kicked five goals.
