Rivals aiming for a pick-me-up
Both teams will be desperate to get back on track when Milford Marlins face Thornhill Trojans tomorrow (1pm).
Early results suggested the West Yorkshire rivals would be among the promotion contenders in their first season in National Conference Division One.
But Milford, who were promoted last season, and relegated Thornhill have both hit a rough patch in recent weeks.
Milford will be without second-row Sam Morton (shoulder), first-choice centres Sam Hood (wrist) and Matt Hayes (work commitments) and long-term casualties James Barry and James Kennedy, who both have shoulder problems.
Forward Mark Butterill – who coached Bramley Buffaloes to the Co-op Conference National title last month – and player/boss Chris Smith could both come into the side, along with under-18 back-rower Joe Ramsden.
Trojans, with Wayne Loney still in temporary charge following Andy Kelly's resignation, will be without Danny Lee (broken ankle), while Dale Brooke (broken collarbone) is a long-term absentee and Anthony Broadhead is suspended.
But with Ben Kendall and Scott Green in contention and James Folan and Scott Dyson also back in the fold, Trojans will field a strong side as they bid to end a four-match losing run.
Skipper Stuart McGill – who started at the club as an 11-year-old junior – will make his 600th appearance for Stanningley when they visit Castleford Panthers (2pm).
Max Norfolk will return in the pack after injury.
East Leeds take on a team below them in the table for the first time this season, when they face visitors Ovenden in Division Two (2pm).
John Carter (broken nose), Donal O'Reilly (groin) and Lee Fisher (broken arm) are all back in contention but after three straight wins, coach Peter Clarkson is considering fielding an unchanged line-up.
Winger Chris Walker has answered an SOS from the other side of the world – to try and help Oulton Raiders beat the drop.
Walker has returned home early from a spell in Australia and is set to go straight into Raiders' line-up for tomorrow's Premier Division visit of Skirlaugh (2.30pm).
Also back in contention for the division's bottom-placed club are Andy Falkingham, Mark Holmes, Nathan Batty, Matty Handforth and Chris Dunnill, though Danny Hardy (knee) is an injury doubt.
