Leeds Rhinos star Kylie Leuluai rushed to hospital
Leeds Rhinos prop forward Kylie Leuluai has shaken off a mystery stomach bug in time to lead Samoa in tomorrow's Pacific Cup qualifying match against Cook Islands in Cairns.
Leuluai, who was a member of the Rhinos' Grand Final-winning team at Old Trafford last Saturday, was rushed to hospital today after experiencing severe stomach cramps.
"I must have eaten some dodgy pasta or something but I'm all good to go now," he said. "It's going to be a huge game for us and the Cook Islands.
"We both want to go to PNG for the Pacific Cup and have a chance of winning it so it will be no holds barred tomorrow night, especially with the hardship our people are facing back home.
"I'm sure it will really spur us on because it's an emotional time for a lot of the boys who have family there."
Leuluai is joined in the Samoa team by his uncle Phil, the Salford forward, and Wigan back rower Harrison Hansen.
St Helens forward Tony Puletua has withdrawn due to family commitments but will be available for the Pacific Cup if Samoa win their qualifying tie.
Cook Islands are coached by former St Helens forward David Fairleigh and captained by ex-Castleford forward Tere Glassie.
