Brocksholm bolsters Akkies

LEEDS AKKIES kept alive their faint hopes of a play-off place in the Co-op Conference Yorkshire Premier Division with a thumping 52-12 home win over East Riding.

Akkies led 28-4 at the break, Tom Bindloss scoring a brace of tries and James Morley, Danny Whitelaw, Billy Greensides and Matthew Brocksholm all touching down.

Akkies 'A' were crushed 52-6 at home by Rotherham Giants in the North Midlands Regional Division. James Harrison scored the Leeds side's try.

Parkside Hawks beat Nottingham Outlaws 'A' 56-0 to remain two points clear at the top.

And there were contrasting fortunes for Featherstone Lions and Dewsbury Celtic in Conference National.
