AYDEN FAAL: Sleeping giant Hawks up for promotion
It won't be easy to get out of Championship One, but all the boys at Hunslet really believe that we can get promotion this year.
That's certainly the aim. The Hawks finished bottom of the league last year, but it is a different team now and so far this season, things have gone really well.
I think Hunslet's a bit of a sleeping giant. Even though I am from Bradford, I am really enjoying it here and I think it's a club with a really bright future.
There's a lot of history and tradition here and a lot of loyal fans, who deserve to be rewarded. They want to see a good team, playing some good rugby and competing near the top of the first division.
Hopefully we can do that for them.
The club could survive in the Championship, no doubt about that. Graeme Hallas is putting a good team together, it's quite a young side and I think we can only get better.
There's a lot of different faces from last season, we've gelled really well and that's showing in our performances.
Graeme was my coach when I was in the academy at Leeds and he's brought a few of us over to Hunslet. Hopefully we're repaying the faith he's shown in us.
If we're serious about getting promoted we've got to win games like the one on Sunday at home to York.
They are a tough, physical team and it's going to be a hard game. But there aren't many easy games in this league.
We beat London Skolars 71-0 at home a while ago and a few weeks later we went down there and they gave us a close game, so you have to turn up and play well every week.
Sky are showing a Championship One game tonight. That'll be great for Dewsbury and Keighley and it'd be nice if we could get on a televised match at some point.
It's always a bonus when you play in front of the TV cameras. I don't think there's any added pressure and it shouldn't affect your performance, it's just nice for lads in the lower divisions to get a little bit of recognition.
I don't think Sky have ever televised a Hunslet game, but if they did it'd be a good chance to show people that the club is still here and that we are playing some good rugby. Hopefully if we keep playing well, the TV people will sit up and take notice.
I was with Doncaster last year and what is happening there at the moment, with them going into administration, is terrible for everybody concerned.
That's another club with a lot of history and tradition, but I'm sure they'll pull through. There's some good people there on and off the field.
If they get relegated this year at least that will give them the chance to rebuild for next season. I believe they would bounce back.
Finally, I'd like to wish Ryan Hall all the best for his England debut against France on Saturday.
I played with Ryan at Leeds and he has done really well. He's setting Super League alight and I'm sure he'll have a good game in Paris.
