TEENAGE FORWARD Sam Hallas has been named in Leeds Rhinos’ initial 19-man group for Saturday’s game at Catalans Dragons.

Rhinos will be without seven members of their 25-man senior squad through injury and Mitch Garbutt is beginning a two-match ban after his red card in last week’s World Club Challenge.

Hallas, 19, is a product of the Stanningley amateur club and an England Youth international.

Mitch Achurch has recovered from a rib problem suffered playing on dual-registration for Featherstone Rovers and is named in the 19.

Jordan Baldwinson has been included for the first time since returning to Rhinos in the off-season.

The front-rower was Kingstone Press Championship young player of the year in 2015, during a spell at Featherstone.

He has played in both Rovers’ opening fixtures this term on dual-registration.

Still missing are Beau Falloon, Jamie Jones-Buchanan, Carl Ablett, Tom Briscoe, Danny McGuire, Ashton Golding and Stevie Ward.

Rhinos under-19s also face Catalans at Stade Gilbert Brutus on Saturday, in a curtain-raiser to the Super League clash.

Catalans have included recently-signed former Australian Test hardman Willie Mason in in their initial 19.

Jamie Jones-Buchanan and Jordan Baldwinson hold Anthony Gelling.
