LEEDS RHINOS: England run was a real tonic says flier Hall
Try machine Ryan Hall believes he is a better player for his England experience.
The Leeds Rhinos winger has scored three tries in two engage Super League games since his Test debut against France almost three weeks ago.
Hall's brace in last Friday's win over Bradford Bulls took his Rhinos tally for the season to 19 in as many matches – on top of the one he grabbed for the national side.
"Things are going well," Hall said today. "The England call was a great boost for me.
"It would be great for anyone, especially at 21. It has given me loads of confidence.
"I am adding little bits to my game every week and it's showing.
"I have got to keep improving and improving and the only way is up, but I'm happy so far."
Hall is the top tryscorer in Super League – with 17, three clear of Warrington Wolves' Chris Hicks – and that's a position he insisted he won't give up without a fight.
"The plan is to stay there," he added. "I have got a figure in mind for the number of tries I'd like to score, but we'll see at the end of the year.
"I've got 17 in the league, plus one in the World Club Challenge and one in the Challenge Cup, so I'm reasonably happy with that."
Leeds will travel to Hull on Saturday as one of the competition's form teams, with six wins from their last seven matches.
But Hall admitted they will need to be better this weekend, after last Friday's struggle against lowly Bradford.
Rhinos led 16-2 early on, but Bulls hit back to go two points in front before a storming finish saw Leeds home.
"It was a nice scoreline early on and we thought we were going to run away with it," Hall said.
"Obviously they came back at us. We expected that because no team's going to give up, especially a team like Bradford.
"They scored to go two points in the lead and we were in a bit of a fluster, but we grouped up and got some more points on the board.
"There's still more to come from us, definitely. We haven't got into full flight yet, but we will do.
"It's only little things, it's nothing major.
"Once they click, we might put a really good score on somebody some time soon."
Meanwhile, the Yorkshire Evening Post understands Warrington Wolves are monitoring Rhinos winger Jodie Broughton, who is on loan at Saturday's opponents Hull.
Warrington coach Tony Smith and youth boss John Bastian are both big admirers of Broughton, who has scored four tries in five appearances for Hull, after working with him at Leeds.
Hull are also believed to be keen to keep Broughton, if he doesn't agree a new deal with Leeds.
