Leeds Rhinos: We want the full 80 insists Jamie Jones-Buchanan

Leeds Rhinos are still hunting an "80-minute performance" – despite their recent winning form.

Rhinos will travel to Hull in two days' time seeking a seventh victory in eight matches, since their poor spell in April.

But forward Jamie Jones-Buchanan today admitted the players have been disappointed with the manner of some of their recent wins.

And he insisted there is more to come from the defending engage Super League champions, if they can be more clinical.

"We have been playing in bits and bats, but the jigsaw's a bit muddled up," said the England World Cup pack man.

"The pieces are there, we just need to put them in the right order.

"Once we get there, we get 50-50 ball and we play to our game plan, I don't think anybody will beat us.

"We've been getting wins and anybody has to be happy to pick up the two points.

"But with the personnel we've got – the coaching staff and the players – we demand so much of ourselves we are looking for perfection all the time.

"Sometimes even when we've got a win, we've not been as good as we should be and the lads have been a bit disappointed."

Flashes

With the gap between teams narrowing, Jones-Buchanan said Rhinos can't afford to play only in flashes.

"We are getting the basis right, the core right, we just need to be more a bit more consistent throughout the game," he added.

"We go through periods where we go a little bit away from it.

"We get some good set-ups and we stick to the game plan and we start getting a bit of joy and then the lads start getting a bit excited and wanting to start offloading the ball.

"Teams are dangerous if they start getting repeat sets on you, so we have got to be a bit more clinical about what we are doing and stick to our game plan and if we do that, we should be pretty good."

Jones-Buchanan revealed silencing the home crowd will be one of Rhinos' priorities this weekend.

"It's always tough at the KC," he said. "Hull have got a massive crowd and they make a lot of noise.

"I think it's the most acoustic stadium you can go to, away from Headingley. It will be a big game. I know they've not had the season they would have wanted, but we are getting to the back end now – the last nine games – and they will want to pick it up and get themselves ready for the play-offs."

Rhinos coasted to a 46-16 win over Hull at Headingley Carnegie on May 26, but Jones-Buchanan insisted: "That hasn't got any bearing on it at all, it's no indicator to anything. You have to turn up and perform on the day.

"The last time against Hull was one of our better performances and I think we need to repeat that if we're going to have a chance of going there and getting the two points and coming away smiling with the result we want.

"What has gone on in the past has got nothing to with the future."
