Sinfield has been banned for two matches after submitting an early guilty plea to a Grade C charge of butting Castleford Tigers’ Luke Dorn in last week’s draw at Headingley Carnegie.

He faced a maximum three game ban, which would have ruled him out of the Cup showdown, but the early guilty plea - which means he does not have to appear at tomorrow’s disciplinary hearing - reduced that by one match.

Sinfield, who was sent-off for the first time in his career, will miss Friday’s trip to Salford Red Devils and the following week’s home derby against Bradford Bulls.

The RFL’s sentencing guidelines for a head-butting offence are: Grade A-B: Makes light contact; Grade C: Makes full contact; Grade E-F: Makes full contact in an aggressive and violent manner.
