A decision will be made today on whether Leeds Rhinos forward Brett Delaney will make his debut for Hunslet Hawks away to Bradford Bulls on Sunday.

Delaney has not played since the end of last season due to knee and ankle injuries, but has been dual-registered for Hawks and trained with them last night.

“He has signed the paperwork,” Hawks coach Barry Eaton confirmed.

“We will see how he trains and then make a decision.

“Rob Mulhern [who is also on dual-registration] is a slight doubt with a dead leg, so Brett could come in in for him.

“On paper Bradford have a stronger squad than last year, so it will be like a Super League game for him if he plays.”

Hawks have a trial game away to National Conference League newcomers Hunslet Club Parkside tomorrow (2.30pm) and Eaton said: “Players who need some game time will feature in that.

“It is a serious game for us and players will have a chance to throw their hat in the ring and prove they are ready for selection.”

Hawks have named a strong team for tomorrow, including Richie Barnett, Brooke Broughton, Michael Haley, Lee Brickwood and Mo Agoro.

London Broncos are to give a month’s trial to former Hunslet, Leeds and Castleford prop forward Jamie Thackray. The 35-year-old, who made 208 Super League appearances from 2000-10.
