BOSS BARRY Eaton feels Hunslet Hawks are hitting form just in time for the Kingstone Press Championship One play-offs.
Hawks are third in the table, three points behind Oldham and another three adrift of York City Knights, but with a game in hand on the two teams above them.
Eaton’s side ran in eight tries in a 48-6 win over Oxford two days ago.
And the coach said: “It was a good performance overall. Oxford have scored plenty of points this season so we knew we were going to have a tricky game on our hands.
“And we had to be mentally ready for it.”
Eaton, who was impressed by key individuals, added: “Gavin Duffy had probably his best game for us, David March was really good around the ruck and Danny Grimshaw and Tom Coyle linked up really well.
“We are in a good position, there’s four games left and we are hoping to build some momentum ready for the play-offs.”
Liam Mackay suffered a slight rib injury and Hawks’ medical staff will check on Michael Haley after he damaged an ankle.
“There was a bit of concern when he came off, but it had settled down by the end of the game and we are hoping it is just a knock,” Eaton said of Haley.
